KUB's Hauled Waste Program allows domestic waste haulers from Knox County and the surrounding eight counties to discharge domestic waste at the Kuwahee Wastewater Treatment Plant near Downtown Knoxville.

 

Associated Costs


Each permitted truck is billed annually for access to the Hauled Waste Site.

Each truck is also billed monthly at a 90% capacity per discharge using KUB's business wastewater rate schedule, Holding Tank and Special Waste Charges.

Manifests


Complete, legible, and accurate manifests must be left after every discharge by waste hauler.

KUB encourages waste haulers to keep manifests in their trucks. Additional manifests are not available on site.

 

Compliance


Failure to comply with KUB wastewater rules and regulations may result in payment of damages or termination of access to the Hauled Waste Site for a period of time determined by KUB. Review KUB’s Wastewater Rules & Regulations.

Some examples of enforceable violations include:

  • Failure to submit legible manifest with each discharge
  • Discharging waste originating from outside counties listed on the map (View the map)
  • Discharging prohibited wastes
  • Sharing security access number (SAN) with other vehicles
  • Inability to maintain permit in vehicle
  • Improperly using or damaging Hauled Waste Site
  • Failing to provide payments for billed discharges
  • Failure to clean site after accidental spill
  • Falsifying information on waste manifest
